OUR PET FRIENDS

This week we discussed our pets and what pets we would like to have.  We are getting to know our friends better and are learning many new things.
His pet friend helped him pick a bone out of the dog dish, however he had to identify the letter and number on the bone and write it by himself.
I love to catch them in candid shots.
Working on "F" words.  I said a word and they had to tell me if it started with the f sound.  If they answered correctly, they got to put a feather on the bird.  Then they made up their own words.  Most interesting!!!!!!!!!
Doggie, doggie who stole your bone?  This game helped us learned our classmates' names.
Pet week included some caterpillars and roly-polies this week.
My friend brought in her Red Cross trained Pet Therapy dog, Rudy to share with the children.
Rudy waiting patiently for his treats.
Rudy needed sunglasses for the hot day.
Rudy is used to nursing home and hospital patients, but the children loved him and were very gentle with him.
What is your favorite animal?  Each student got to vote.
The results of our animal favorites.  The dog won by a small margin.
Matching the right colored key to the same colored door at the animal hospital.
A card game of war to practice number value.

WE ARE SPECIAL

Our Bridge class had an awesome start!  We discussed why we are special and unique and sang songs thanking God for making us.  We discovered in the second week of school that it's more fun to do just about anything with a friend or buddy like painting, reading, or eating lunch.  We're so happy being at L.A.P.
We have so many great books in our room to read.
I use my sense of touch to feel the ball.
I use my eyes to see through this kaleidoscope.
Sharing his paper he did at home with his friends.
 Sponge painting.
Friends playing with one of their favorite toys.
Which friend is having more fun?
Find your match to make a circle.  That's your partner during carpet time.
After much discussion, these two friends decided to make a house in a tornado.
One of our buddy masterpiece paintings titled "The Ocean"
We made a necklace with all of our friends' names.
Musical Shares instead of Musical Chairs.  When the music stopped, we had to share a chair.

The most valuable lesson we've learned in the last two weeks is that all creatures are important no matter of size in God's eyes.  Within that concept we had an introduction to the food chain. We sang I just thank God for making me, ME.

Our math skills were tested as we put the inch worm in order from left to right.

Mrs. Angela read the story, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."  with a hand puppet.
After we listened to the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," we played the board game.

Students took the bag home and put an item in it.  The next day their classmates had to guess what was in the bag with only giving them the first letter.  We often needed more clues.

Matching ladybugs.

Instead of one big puzzle, the students worked on 20 three word puzzles.

We recycled newspaper into pirate hats on Earth Day.

Trying his hand at teaching.
More discoveries about magnetism.

It's so much easier to remember the parts of a flower when you write them.

A variation of the celery experiment.

Besides planting individual seeds, we planted herbs in an egg carton.

The four things that every plants needs.

We painted the pots and then planted marigolds seeds.  We'll need some real sweet talking to make them grow.
I told them we were going to eat worms in dirt, but only a few of them bought that story.  One little guy asked for some milk with  his Oreos.

OUTER SPACE JOURNEY

The ocean and its many creatures, space, the planets, and magnetism were the main topics covered the last two weeks. We are so smart and we are sounding out and recognizing so many words.  The new outdoor playground is simply AWESOME!!!!!!!  Come join us in our outer space journey.
We each took a space walk in our special boots to learn about gravity and to identify our sight words.

He's pretty proud of his rocket.

Discovering and creating in the sensory table.

With the help of our friends and the balloons, we demonstrated what causes day and night.

We couldn't go two weeks without at least one edible craft.  Gluing goldfish to our fishbowls.

 Fishing for letters
We can make our own simulated tornadoes.
The paper clip made the space craft magnetic to send it off the planet Earth.
 Mrs. Angela's keys were magnetic
A race between you and this ferocious shark to name the letters.
