Halloween fun this week included children dressing up in costumes and going trick or treating. During our party we got to design out own tasty snack by icing graham crackers and adding spooky marshmallows. Dancing and crawling like spiders released some of our extra energy. We participated in many sensory activities. Little did we know that two cups of cornstarch and one cup of water could create such magic. Add a few drops of green food coloring, and we had the perfect recipe for "green slime, " as the children called it. The correct name is ooblick, but a real sensory experience for those who dared.
A foot on approach was used as we painted our feet and turned them into scary ghosts. Oh how that tickled!!!!! Next week we will conclude our study on the senses as we will explore the apple using our eyes, ears, noses, tongues, and hands.
