Lots of Hands On Activities

The last two weeks we have been studying Fire Prevention, and pumpkins. Both of these topics have led to many hands on activities and reviewing our academics. Enjoy the pictures as you see how our friends share the love of learning.

Digging out the seeds and feeling the pulp was quite fun!!!!!

How creative can you make your pumpkin face?

A DISCOVERY!!!!!!!!! These two shapes make a circle.

These orange strips of papers made cute three dimensional jack-o-lanterns, but before we put our glue to work we formed all our letters that we could with straight lines. We also discussed why we couldn't make our new letter U.

Can you tell what letters we made with our bodies????? The boys could visualize these capitals.

The shaving cream cans were our fire extinguishers, but they became so much more. We practiced our numbers, shapes, letters, and became such smart little firefighters.

The firetruck races to the fire.

An orange was a good example of our three layers of skin if we get burned. The peel being our ouside skin, the white part is the next layer, and the fruit is next to the bone. OUCH!!!! Their comments showed they were aware of the danger.

These cups were decorated with spots and turned into Dalmatian dogs to go along with our Fire Prevention Week theme.

We practiced what to do if our clotes catch on fire. "Stop, Drop, Roll."

Our science experiment shows that if a flame doesn't get any air, it goes out.

APPLE EVERYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Kindergarten Bridge class did every imaginable kind of activity with apples in the last two weeks. Some of these included painting with them, lacing them together, cutting them, dipping them, eating them, playing games with them, reading about them, and sorting them. Our small little class allows us time to really get into our themes and have fun while reinforcing our skills we've learned in the morning class. The pictures below display some of this apple fun!!!!!!!

Hot apple game instead of Hot potato game.

Apple bingo with apple cereal seemed like a game, but we really reviewed all our numbers and letters.

Our list of yummy things made from APPLES.

We know all the parts of the apple and we know that a group of apple trees is an orchard.

A fine motor lacing activitiy.

An apple relay race just for fun!!!!!!

We cut our apples before we got to dip them in caramel .....mmmmmm good.

Apples make terrific painting tools.

Sorting apples two ways--by size and color.
