Presidents!

What a fun week learning about presidents!

We learned about money and how each coin has a president on it.  They worked hard in small groups to sort this money and make a graph!

Our number of the week was 21.  After learning the story of George Washington and the cherry tree, they made their own handprint trees.  They then painted and counted 21 cherries for their trees!

They had so much fun playing "Who cut down the cherry tree??" in circle time!

working those fine motor muscles ;)

What a sweet kinder-bridge class :)
Be sure to come back soon and see pictures from our "Dental Health" week...

Happy Valentine's Day!!

We had such a fun week in Kinder Bridge learning all around our special Valentine's Day theme.

These guys are SO SMART! :)  They all made sentences using sight words and color words.

....and read them back to me all by themselves!

This sweet handprint heart craft also helped us with our sight words.

In circle time, we reviewed the number 20.  A few of us helped "rainbow write" the number.

We also reviewed our letter of the week, M. (My little girl wanted a turn like the big kids. ;)

We each had a turn to help stamp 20 hearts to our paper and together counted them.

These hard workers worked as a team and sorted the conversation hearts.

Then we made a graph with our results.  They did great!!

So fun making M's this week with M&M's and marshmallows. (especially when Mrs. Crystal lets you eat a few too. ;)

These were all so sweet. :)

These boys made some amazing BLUE heart cookies.... a whole plate full. ;)

Here they are saying hi to Mrs. Angela!  She gave them an extra special Valentine treat bag, and they were so excited.

tracing the number 20...
We then made four rows of five hearts on our papers with pink paint and a cookie cutter!  We worked on counting by 5's to the number 20.

Each child wrote his/her last name on hearts and made a cute heart caterpillar. :)

Smarties and a kiss for all these smarties. :)

We had another great week together! So thankful we had a full week and no more snow days!  As always, let me know if you have any questions.  Looking forward to next week!

We have been having so much fun in Kinder Bridge!  What a sweet and smart group of kiddos.

Here we are getting ready to make our planet Earth. First, we covered a cookie sheet with shaving cream.  Then, we added blue and green paint (and learned that these colors are from our land and water).

We swirled it all around....

...then placed our circle in the mixture for about five seconds.

We let them all dry for five minutes, scraped off the top with our sticks, then glued them to our black "space" paper!  Then we added our stars!  They turned out so cute.

The class loved playing this fun game of "Sight Word Bingo".

making constellations with play dough and pipe cleaners!

Here we are making "moon dough". (such a fun sensory activity!)
First we poured flour into our bin.

Then we added baby oil!

sight word musical chairs in the Minds in Motion room :)

a game of "Freeze"! Ha:)

last name spaceships

Together we counted 18 stars and made the Big Dipper with marshmallows and toothpicks.

Getting those star stickers out really worked our fine motor muscles!

In circle time we read books and talked about our eight planets, sun, and moon.  We learned that the Earth goes around each day and how it goes around the sun once a year.  We acted this out to help understand the concept!

We learned that when facing away from the sun, it it night.  When facing towards the sun, it is day
