ALL ABOARD FOR THE RACES 5/1/10

Painting the newspaper is more fun than reading it.

Are we more proud of our jockey hats or our medals we won for following directions?

We're ready for the derby in style.

Thank-you Officer Edgell for showing and telling us about your police car. We were very good listeners.
Firefighters sure have a lot of equipment. Gavin's dad explained about the parts of the big truck so we could understand.

We each got the opportunity to climb into the truck and pretend we were junior firefighters.

What a big tractor bed we got to sit on. Straw is used for many things we learned.
ALL ABOARD.

Our transportation theme took us to land vehicles. We used our graphing skills and found out that most of us have a black car. We made air fresheners for our cars with our pictures on them. How sweet they were.

We really used our fine motor skills to design our indiviual boats.

Our finished products. Off to the races!!!!!

Our water play involved a hands on science experiment on sinking and floating objects.

After making our boats, we had to sail them in the waterways.

Boxes can be made into anything you want. Here the girls sit in their boat using their magnetic poles to make sure the big one doesn't get away.

I caught one!!!!! Numbers and letters were written on the fish for the children to identify.
