Happy Birthday, Jesus has been our focus the last two weeks.  The children joined in the spirit of gift giving by making presents for their parents.  We hope you liked them as much as we like making them for you.  The new year promises to be exciting in many ways as grow in mind, body, and heart in a brand new building sometime in Jan.
Matching the correct pattern blocks form various Christmas shapes.

A salt shaker with a handle makes glittering so much easier and fun.
 A masterpiece in the making.
 We're proud of our design.
 Sharing a great book together!!!!!
We worked very hard to make these reindeer ornaments by stuffing the plastic base with shredded brown paper.
There's nothing better than a homemade Christmas card for our dear parents.
You can tell the new listening center is a big hit by the smiles on their faces.
Christmas Bingo with candy markers.  We had to know our color words and our sight words.
We had a birthday party for Jesus with cupcakes and candles and singing.

The Polar Express Train week involved not only the magic of the book, but train safety and signs.  During gingerbread week, we continued our Christmas activities and projects.
Given the shapes to the Polar Express train, the task was to identify and match them like a puzzle.

Painting red or green sticks so intently to make our jingle sticks.

Rhythm sticks serve many purposes.  They make a perfect clickety clack noise, we counted out syllables like our names, not to mention they are just plain loud.

The wheels on the train go round and round.  We went to the North Pole.

This Bridge class loves to create.

Train vocabulary words this week included engine and caboose.  She was able to put all 26 letters of the alphabet in order between the two cars.  GREAT JOB!
After doing train activities all week, the boys decided to build their own model.

Rubbing the sandpaper gingerbread men with cinnamon sticks sure made them smell yummy.

The boys in green show off their teamwork!!!!!

We made gingerbread boys and girls.

His job was to crack the egg with a little help:)

Each student got to stir the batter ten times.

Don't forget to decorate him before we gobbled him up.

These gingerbread people didn't get away in this dice game of number recognition.

A game of Twister anyone?

Our last two weeks we have focused on the Pilgrims and Native Americans.  The emphasis was about sharing like Squanto did, and how blessed we are to have so many people that care about us.
He's got the whole world in his hands.  Well at least a globe.  We're studying 3 dimensional shapes and he located a sphere in the room.
Everybody found a cube or sphere or cone in the room which Mrs. Angela had hidden.
After we found our 3-D objects, we had to identify them and put them in the Mayflower for our supplies to America.
Our Mayflower ships were designed by tracing our hands for the boat part.
We now know our initials. To reinforce that concept we outlined them with sunflower or pumpkin seeds, although some of us preferred eating them.
One of the first crops the pilgrims learned about was corn.  We saw an ear of corn, Indian corn and we discovered that many products are made from corn like cornbread, corn chips, and cereals.
We watched as Mrs. Angela poured the popcorn into the popper.
We learned that the kernels are full of water and when the water gets hot, it starts to pop.  Just look at our faces.
And now it's really heating up.
 WOW!!!!!!!
But the most fun was eating it!!!!!!!!
We each brought in a piece of fruit to share with our friends just like the Pilgrims and the Native Americans shared on the first Thanksgiving.  We gave thanks for our many blessings.
Count how many points you get by knocking over the cans.  A new game purchased with Trike-a-thon money.  Thank-you parents.
This game was called "Tired Turkey"  Children had to put all the pictures that started with a "T" on the turkey.

Our Halloween week activities were fun and full of action, just the way we like it.  This past week seasons and God's beautiful creation were our focus.  We sang songs, danced, and read books all about the special season of fall.
Dont't peek!!!! Draw an orange or black spider out of the can and color it that color on your paper.  Then your partner does the same thing.  Which will be drawn the most???  Probability at preschool.
During Halloween week we discussed our bodies and how to take care of them.  Mrs. Angela gave a direction and these girls mastered elbow to elbow with their good listening ears.
This game consisted of throwing beanbags into various sized containers.  The smaller the opening the more points you received.  A super mental math exercise, and of course everybody 's a winner.
Mrs. Angela told a story without a book.  The only thing she used was a scissors. Look what the story ending made.
Halloweeen cupcakes were sooooo very yummy!!!!!!

Mrs. Crystal helps with painting over the leaves.  We then lifted the leaves off for a design.
Leaves make great patterns.  Here we have an AB pattern and below is an
AAB pattern.
Instead of the leaves falling from the trees, the students picked the capitals and lower case letters that matched.
