Bubbles and Daisies

Our last two weeks we have focused on the Pilgrims and Native Americans.  The emphasis was about sharing like Squanto did, and how blessed we are to have so many people that care about us.
He's got the whole world in his hands.  Well at least a globe.  We're studying 3 dimensional shapes and he located a sphere in the room.
Everybody found a cube or sphere or cone in the room which Mrs. Angela had hidden.
After we found our 3-D objects, we had to identify them and put them in the Mayflower for our supplies to America.
Our Mayflower ships were designed by tracing our hands for the boat part.
We now know our initials. To reinforce that concept we outlined them with sunflower or pumpkin seeds, although some of us preferred eating them.
One of the first crops the pilgrims learned about was corn.  We saw an ear of corn, Indian corn and we discovered that many products are made from corn like cornbread, corn chips, and cereals.
We watched as Mrs. Angela poured the popcorn into the popper.
We learned that the kernels are full of water and when the water gets hot, it starts to pop.  Just look at our faces.
And now it's really heating up.
 WOW!!!!!!!
But the most fun was eating it!!!!!!!!
We each brought in a piece of fruit to share with our friends just like the Pilgrims and the Native Americans shared on the first Thanksgiving.  We gave thanks for our many blessings.
Count how many points you get by knocking over the cans.  A new game purchased with Trike-a-thon money.  Thank-you parents.
This game was called "Tired Turkey"  Children had to put all the pictures that started with a "T" on the turkey.
